New study has just begun regarding a speculation that green tea may hold the key to repairing damaged cells in the body. Researchers at the Virginia Piper Cancer Center is beginning a local study with former smokers to determine whether green tea can actually repair damaged cells. They believe that the antioxidants in green tea in high concentrations can reverse the damage of cells from extreme weather conditions. The study at the Virginia Piper Cancer Center is being funded by the National Cancer Institute. The National Cancer Institute played a large role in developing anti-cancer drugs, so this study should be promising.
